Bond 25 casting net thrown over Finland for male and female roles

03-Sep-2018 • No Time To Die

Long-time James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams spent 18 days in Finland last month meeting with 28 different male and female actors for roles in Bond 25.

Local media in Finland reports that McWilliams met with the actors who had been pre-selected for Bond 25 parts.

Despite a strong Scandinavian presence in the James Bond franchise, no Finnish actor or actress has had a prominent role in a 007 adventure yet.

Swedish director Casting director Tusse Lande, who worked as an assistant to McWilliams on 'Skyfall' and 'SPECTRE,' said it would be cause for celebration in Finland if one of the roles went to a local actor.

As these casting meetings in Finland were wrapping up, it was announced that Danny Boyle had left the project. Plans for McWilliams to meet with Lande in Sweden for further Bond 25 casting calls were postponed until a new director is confirmed.
