Harry Palmer will be back and with another 007 connection

12-Dec-2020 • Bond News

James Bond producer Harry Saltzman famously irked his partner Albert R. Broccoli by making non-Bond films featuring Harry Palmer - a spy character created by Ian Fleming contemporary Len Deighton. The role was famously played by Michael Caine. Now Palmer is back to rival Bond again, and with another 007 link.

It was announced this week that ITV in the UK is to produce a 6-part miniseries with a fresh screenplay adaptation by John Hodge of the novel 'The Ipcress File'

Hodge was the writer of the ill-fated Danny Boyle 'Bond 25' project before splitting with EON Productions who then hired Cary Fukunaga to direct 'No Time To Die'. His involvement with the property has been known for some time through his agent's portfolio, but Deadline claimed it as a scoop.

The cast will feature Joe Cole, Lucy Boynton, and Tom Hollander.
