MGM expects Bond 24 in 2014 or 2015

16-Nov-2012 • Spectre (2015)

MGM CEO Gary Barber told listeners to an investors conference call yesterday that James Bond will be back as soon as possible.

With "Skyfall" breaking box-office records around the world, and the forthcoming "Hobbit" movie opening next month, the fourth quarter is looking good for MGM profits.

Barber told the call that MGM expects "Skyfall" to gross more than $800 million worldwide.

This may be a little conservative if US audiences hold strong through the release of the last "Twilight" film and its Australia, Japan and Chinea release still to come.

"Skyfall will be the biggest Bond of all time," he said, adding that they expect Bond 24 to hit screens in 2014 or 2015 depending on how long it takes to prepare and produce.
