Director Alfonso Cuaron responds positively to the idea of directing a Bond film

18-Feb-2014 • Bond News

On the red carpet for his mammoth project, "Gravity" (2013), Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron was asked if he would be interested in making a Bond film in his future.

As a writer and producer, as well as director, he has a busy production schedule, with upcoming "Desierto", "A Boy and His Shoe" (which he wrote and produced), and a new fantasy TV series "Believe".

In response to media speculation that he might want to take on Bond helmsmanship in the future, the director, speaking to UK's Absolute Radio, replied: "That's an interesting question, I donno at this point. After four and a half years of making [this] film the only thing I can think of is a hammock. But as an idea, of course, you are talking about the most amazing playground for a filmmaker."

Sam Mendes is the director of Bond 24, returning from his success with "Skyfall".
