Die Another Day breaks the 1 billion Yen mark in Japan, impressive second weekend takes total to $9m

18-Mar-2003 • Die Another Day

"Die Another Day" had an impressive second weekend run in Japan, adding an extra $2.3 million to the box-office gross for Fox International. The film proved its staying power as the takings only dropped by 29% from the opening weekend.

The weekend also saw the Japanese gross break through the 1 billion Yen mark (approximately $9m USD).

Fox International were quoted in local press saying they were aiming at a 7 billion Yen total gross of "Die Another Day" in Japan. Although this target seems very optimistic and probably will not be reached, the film has beaten most third party box-office estimations for the territory.
