Casino Royale 1967 `40th Anniversary` DVD slips release to 21st October 2008

07-Jun-2008 • Collecting

Back in August last year, no sooner had the news got out that MGM Home Entertainment were releasing a new special edition DVD of the 1967 James Bond spoof "Casino Royale" to celebrate its 40th anniversary, MI6 was informed that the ship date has slipped from November 6th 2007 to sometime in early 2008. Back in October last year, it was further announced the release would take place on June 3rd 2008 - a date which has since come and gone.

According to the product listings on Amazon, that date has slipped further to October 21st 2008 - almost a year from its original slot.

Making matters worse, the film was originally released on 28 April 1967, so nobody can claim that the new DVD will still ship during its 40th year despite the boxart.
