Jeffrey Wright briefly discusses Felix Leiter

25-Oct-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

Jeffrey Wright is an ensemble player who quietly becomes The Guy You're Watching. Whether he's playing CIA agent Felix Leiter in the James Bond films "Casino Royale" and the soon-to-be-released "Quantum of Solace" or Colin Powell in the new "W." or the nurse tending to Roy Cohn in "Angels in America," Wright is at the heart and soul of the action - reports AZ Central.

Question: How was playing back-to-back government guys Leiter and Powell?

Answer: It's a lot less pressurized to do a Bond film than a film about a sitting president, but there are some similarities in the characters. Each find themselves being lured away from their best judgment.

Q. What's the trick to drawing people into your performance?

A. I am drawn to certain characters, and I find it's their qualities in the relationship to the story that are interesting. As well, I try not to do the same thing twice. If I had to be too repetitive too often, I think I'd be looking for a new profession. I'm probably looking for a new profession anyway just because I have a healthy disdain for this stuff sometimes.
