Jonathan Pryce weighs in on Danny Boyle departure and politics

24-Aug-2018 • No Time To Die

Jonathan Pryce, who played villain Elliot Carver in the 1997 James Bond film 'Tomorrow Never Dies,' commented on the Bond 25 and Danny Boyle split to the Daily Mail.

"They obviously couldn’t take a socialist Bond. You see, there are the Dannys of this world and then there are people who do the blockbusters."

Pryce, who has worked with Boyle in the past, added that politics should not intrude on film-making: "You do bring some kind of personal sensibility to your work, but it shouldn’t be too obvious unless it’s a film which is overtly political."
