Ronald Payne to update Snelling`s `007 James Bond: A Report` book for 2007

01-Feb-2006 • Literary

Ronald Payne, the American writer, will be updating the late British author O.F. Snelling's "007 James Bond: A Report" next year as "DOUBLE 0 SEVEN: James Bond Under the Microscope." The new title was the original title created by Mr. Snelling.

Mr. Payne acquired "exclusive rights" to the book in 1979. In its original format, this classic work sold 17 million copies worldwide. The update will include all the films right up to the hiring of Daniel Craig as the new 007.

The book has a special bonus: "Fifty unpublished letters of O.F. Snelling to Ronald Payne" in what will be called, "The James Bond Letters." Mr. Snelling was very specific as to how he felt about "everything Bond."

In 1982, Mr. Payne published the rare fanzine, "James Bond, Secret Agent." He is also the author of "Shadows in the Sun," "The Dark Side of Twilight," the play, "An Evening With James Mason," and recently edited the children's book, "Jean Hornsby's Tree-Riffic!..."
