Cyril Shaps - Dr. Bechmann in The Spy Who Loved Me - has died aged 79

Cyril Shaps, born on 13 October 1923 in Highbury, London, England, UK - known to Bond fans as Dr. Bechmann in "The Spy Who Loved Me" - has died aged 79.

As well as featuring in Roger Moore`s favourite 007 adventure, he also had roles in films such as: "The Invisible Man", "The Madness Of King George", "Operation Daybreak", and most recently "The Pianist".

His television work included lots of appearences on popular TV series` like "Dr Who", "LoveJoy", "The Sweeny" and "The Young Ones". He was also the voice of the Mr. Kipling TV commercials.
