Casino Royale drops 724 theatres in fifth week in USA, out performing `Die Another Day`

16-Dec-2006 • Casino Royale

"Casino Royale" will go in to its fifth week of release in North America accross 2,437 theaters in the USA & Canada - a drop of 724 venues.

This reduction is not unexpected, and is less that 007's previous outing "Die Another Day" which lost 1,302 theaters on its fifth weekend - playing at only 2,075 venues and grossing $4,030,346 for the week.

"Casino Royale" has out-performed the previous Bond box-office record set by "Die Another Day" during it's thrid and fourth weeks.

Daniel Craig's debut 007 outing is expected to enter the top 10 highest grossing movies of 2006 in the USA this weekend.

Thanks to `Dog Bond` for the alert.
