Casino Royale breaks US box-office record, now most successful Bond film worldwide

14-Jan-2007 • Casino Royale

According to weekend industry estimates, Daniel Craig's debut outing as 007 in "Casino Royale" has passed the previous record set by Pierce Brosnan's final outing "Die Another Day" at the US box-office.

BoxOfficeMojo puts Casino Royale at a US cume of $161,240,000 on Friday 12th January 2007, narrowly suprassing Die Another Day's final US box-office haul of $160,942,139. Industry figures expect Casino Royale to finish the weekend with $162,525,000 over 819 theatres.

Casino Royale has now become the most successful James Bond film at both the US and international box-office.

As reported by MI6 back in November, the final box-office total for the film is expected to be $575,000,00. As of this weekend's estimates, Casino Royale has earned $533,702,569.
