Young Bond author Charlie Higson gives 007 novelist Sebastian Faulks some friendly advice

12-Jul-2007 • Literary

Author Charlie Higson, who has seen his Young Bond series of books sell over half a million copies, has given some friendly words advice to the new 007 novelist Sebastian Faulks.

Faulks was officially announced as the new continuation author this week. His novel "Devil May Care", which will follow on from the events of Ian Fleming's last published 007 adventure, will be released on May 28th 2008.

Higson told SMH, "I think Sebastian probably doesn't know what he has let himself in for. He will find himself completely immersed in the world of Bond and for ever after will be pursued as a Bond author."

"He will find himself getting requests to do photo shoots wearing the odd tuxedo and I imagine he'll say no, but after a while you sort of give in. That's the thing about James Bond. It just turns everyone into kids."
