New unofficial fictional biography of James Bond published in France

04-Nov-2007 • Literary

A new book about James Bond was published in French last month.

"Les nombreuses vies de James Bond" ("The Numerous Lives of James Bond"), edited by A.-F. Ruaud and Xavier Mauméjean at La Bibliothèque Rouge (The Red Library), is a unique collection of original works celebrating the major figures of popular literature.

The book is an unofficial biography of the character as if he had existed in the real world, with a historic setting in the cold war. It studies on the methods of the secret agent and on his fictional colleagues (Modesty Blair or John Steed). It also contains original short stories staging James Bond in new missions in homage to Ian Fleming's work at the end of the series.
