`Quantum of Solace` score nominated for Ivor Novello award

22-Apr-2009 • Quantum Of Solace

The 54th edition of the Ivor Novello Awards, covering 2008 and staged by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) in association with PRS for Music, will take place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on May 21.

Composer David Arnold's soundtrack to the 2008 James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" is nominated in the Best Original Film Score category.

It is joined by "The Escapist" (Benjamin Wallfisch) and "There Will Be Blood" (Jonny Greenwood).

Last year, Amy Winehouse won the best song award - but turned up too late to accept it.

The Ivors celebrate the outstanding writing achievements of songwriters, composers and their music publishers. The awards either celebrate artistic excellence in a specific work, exceptional sales or performance figures in the award year or recognise the outstanding achievements of a particular songwriter or composer throughout their career. Presented annually at the Grosvenor House, London, The Ivors continue to be acknowledged as amongst the most widely coveted awards for British songwriters or composers in the world.
