Paramount joins Disney in abandoning 2020 for major releases

30-Jul-2020 • No Time To Die

Following Disney's big push of major franchises into 2021 and beyond, this week Paramount joined the list of studios abandoning 2020 for major releases.

'A Quiet Place Part 2' was moved from September 6th, 2020 to April 23rd, 2021.

'Top Gun: Maverick,' that will see the follow up to the 1986 Tom Cruise blockbuster, now takes off on July 2nd, 2021, six months later than its original release plan of December 23rd, 2020.

“We truly believe that there is no movie-viewing experience like the one enjoyed in theatres,” said Paramount’s president of domestic distribution Chris Aronson, and president of international theatrical distribution Mark Viane. “We are committed to the theatrical experience and our exhibition partners, and want to stress that we are confident that, when the time comes, audiences everywhere will once again enjoy the singular joy of seeing Paramount films on the big screen.”

MGM has yet to announce any release date changes to 'No Time To Die'.
