Anthony Horowitz will return to pen a second James Bond continuation novel following his successful outing 'Trigger Mortis' which was published last year and received positive reviews. He will become the first author to write back-to-back adult 007 adventures since the 1990s.
The upcoming novel, which is as yet untitled, will be published in Spring 2018 by Ian Fleming's original publisher Jonathan Cape (whereas 'Trigger Mortis' was published by Orion). Horowitz made public his desire to write a follow-up when asked about it this summer.
Horowitz said: "Writing Trigger Mortis was a pleasure and I was delighted by the positive response when it was published. And I was thrilled when the Ian Fleming estate asked me to come back. How could I refuse? I can't wait to return to the world of James Bond."

"I did love writing Trigger Mortis and I'm a huge fan of Ian Fleming." - Anthony Horowitz
Once again Horowitz's book will be based in the 1960s and will feature previously unpublished material by Ian Fleming.
Corinne Turner, m.d. of Ian Fleming Publications Ltd, said: "We are absolutely thrilled that Anthony Horowitz is going to write a second James Bond novel with inspiration again from original Fleming material, and of course delighted that Bond will be back home at Jonathan Cape. Trigger Mortis was a superb book, full of energy, wit, twists and turns, and we can’t wait to see what Anthony comes up with next."
Since the 'reboot' of the James Bond continuation novels to mark Ian Fleming's centenary in 2008, authors have also included Sebastian Faulks ('Devil May Care' in 2008), Jeffery Deaver ('Carte Blanche' in 2011) and William Boyd ('Solo' in 2013).
